My
favorite tool that I have learned about in class over the past few weeks would
be “prezi”. I have a feeling that prezi is going to be the answer most of my peers
will be blogging about as well.
Before
I started this course I had difficulty using Microsoft power point. I hardly implemented
it in my classes and mostly relied on using lots of handouts. However after
taking this course and learning more about multimedia tools and how to adapt
them into my classes, I would have to say that learning prezi and utilizing it in
my classes will change the way I teach and structure my classes.
Prezi
is a great tool that can help teachers present information in a fun way. Prezi
allows you to zoom in and out of frames and rotate in any direction easily. The
coolest feature in my opinion is the ability to hide frames within frames.
Using prezi will make my classes more entertaining and keep the students
focused longer.
Although
at times, it was very confusing, frustrating and difficult learning how to
operate prezi, it goes without saying that I am thankful that I now have a very
useful and effective tool I can use in my classes. I will be implementing prezi
into my university classes starting immediately. It will be a little annoying
to redo most of my lessons but in the long run I think it will be worth
it.
Great blog Tristan.
ReplyDeleteAlthough I didn't blog about PREZI it really is amazing. I’m actually a fan of PPT because I have used it for a long time now. But I’ve always known that PREZI is hands and shoulders better than PPT. Much more innovate and aesthetically pleasing. It would be long before Bill Gates buys them…
But it really is nice to have choices to present material now. I for one definitely need to spend more time on PREZI and play around to familiarize myself.
Hey buddy, great post. I think that Prezi is a great, intuitive tool as well. I haven't mastered it yet, but I used to sit in awe, like a caveman being introduced to a toaster, when somebody would give a cool presentation about some new, geeky thing but now I feel like I can push the bread in and retrieve it when it's toasted. However, I'm at a loss to explain how electricity is converted to heat, analogy of my need to also learn how to do more on Prezi.
